Happy Birthday Kennedy!!

It was Kennedy's birthday last month and I am finally getting around to writing about it. But first since I am horrible at writing in her journal I thought I would give a quick overview of her birth. Kennedy was born on August 12th, 2004. We went into Cottonwood hospital that morning to start an induction because they were afraid she was going to be a big baby. We got there about 7:00 in the morning and by 2:20 p.m. she was here. She weighed in at only 8 pounds. Sometimes I think she was upset that she had to be forced out a week and half early because she was such a grumpy baby. Grandma Kris and I would always be thinking about new things that would make her happy. The only thing that worked was carrying her in a baby sling. So the whole family, grandparents included ,would take their turn strapping on the pouch and carrying her around. I never thought we would get to her 5th birthday!
I think this photo says it all. "Did I have to come to this place already??" :) Although Kennedy has cried more tears than seems humanly possible I have to give her credit for many things. She is always so willing to help out. If you ask her to get something she will just do it. And Kennedy is by far the funniest person in our family. For one thing, she is obsessed with money. She hoards it, she washes it, she perks up when she hears it drop on the floor. We once gave her money to throw in a fountain and she ran over there, dipped it in the water, and then pulled it out. She realized she just couldn't part with it and so there it went into her pockets all nice and wet. For her 4th birthday party she even had a money themed party.
She just says funny things. For example, we were in church when they were passing the sacrament. They had brought wheat bread, so when Kennedy gets the tray she looks down at it and in her full normal voice says, "MMM...Toasted!!!.
This year she had a "Pinkalicious Party" because she loves that color pink and that book. We had a little party with her friends where everyone wore pink. Then we had a family party where everyone also dressed in pink and we had a pinkalicious dessert buffet. It was a fun day. We love Kennedy. There is just never a dull moment with this girl. :)
