Summer Week 3

Well, our final week of summer has come to a close. My sister came to a lot of these activities. We were hoping it would start the labor process but hence, that baby is not coming out. It was a really busy week but we fit in as much as we could. Time now to get back to the grind of school, homework, and getting to bed before 10. Next break: September. :)

Monday: Went to the Herriman Beach once again. Thanks Jaci for driving out and spending the day with us. The kids loved having their cousins there. Later that night we went to watch dad play softball. Let's just say we need to take him to the batting cages. :)
Tuesday: Friend day. Set up all the water toys. I actually forgot to take some pictures! :( But Kennedy got to go and have a fun day at the dentist. One baby root canal taken care of by my fabulous brother-in-law dentist. Love the pink piggy nose filled with laughing gas. She did great!
Wednesday: The girls had a birthday party that day so it was just me and Kendon. We decided to go to Boondocks and just play in the arcade. It's funny when you only have one kid to go around with. I guess I will have to get used to it starting tomorrow.
Thursday: Getting ready for school day!! Shopping, glitter toes, and haircuts. Looking great for a new year of school.
Friday: Took the Trax train downtown for lunch. Who knew that public transportation could be so much fun? :) We were supposed to meet Kevin for lunch but unfortunately he got called to a meeting. Looks like we will have to do it again.
I love my kids. It has been such a fun 3 weeks. I'm excited for them to start a new year, and hope that they have a great time. I can't believe how fast time seems to be going.

Summer Week 2

Another week of our 3 week summer has passed already! Only one more until the kids are back in school. Here's what we did this week.

Monday: Went to the Sweet's Candy Factory Tour. I think the best part of this little excursion were these beautiful blue hairnets. The day we went not many machines were up and running. And we were trying our skills at lip reading because you couldn't hear a word our tour guide was saying. But, the kids have had fun playing play doh candy factory at home with these snazzy hairnets. I'm thinking of wearing one whenever we cook now. :)
Tuesday: Had to go to the "beach" once again. This time brought a crocodile along with all the other stuff we loaded.
Wednesday: Friends day. And mom's laundry day. Nothing too exciting to report. :)

Thursday: Park up at Snowbird Ski Resort. Love this park because what park can you go to at 12:00 in the afternoon and not get fried on the playground equipment? This one! :)
"Hiking" our way into the park.
Friday: Kennedy loves penguins so we finally decided to go to the Living Planet Aquarium to see the new exhibit. Thanks Gunns for going with us, we had a great time. And it was the best way to end a fun week. This picture looks like we have all the kids lined up in some scary warehouse, but I swear there are pictures of penguins behind them!!
Bring on the next week. ;)

Summer Week 1

Okay, so we have only 3 weeks of summer. Kind of crazy, so I try to do something fun every day including a day or two to just hang out with their friends. Here is week #1!

Monday: Fishing at the lake in American Fork Canyon. Luckily no fish were caught. The kids just kept catching each others fishing poles.

☮ Tuesday: Peace Gardens. The kids had fun running around the little countries. Kourtney took her American Girl doll and took pictures of her at each place so she could make a scrapbook of her dolls "trip around the world". Here we are in Norway. :)
☀ Wednesday: Swimming at the pool. They could swim all day. Best part for me? No more kiddie pool. No offense to those with little ones. But it was sure nice to just get to watch them play while I chill in the chaise lounge. :)

Thursday: Herriman Beach. More water, the only bad thing, after getting all our gear out, we could only stay about an hour before the thunderstorm rolled in. Still fun though.
Friday: The kids wanted to feed some ducks so we tried out Gardner Village. There was one large white goose, needless to say.. didn't need to be fed. So I fed my 3 ducks instead. :) (Later we made it to the Daybreak Lake and found about 10 to feed).
Busy week, but we have some fun stuff planned for week #2.

4th of July

Monster Truck Firework. We were pretty excited about this find.

I love the 4th of July. It is one of my favorite holidays. This year we hit the Murray parade, which was as lame as ever, yet tradition rules. That night we all got on my bed and watched the Riverton Fireworks. On Sunday we had the big get together with the fam. My brother Kraig hosted the barbecue/fireworks show. We each brought some fireworks. Needless to say, a $20.00 pack from Smiths doesn't look so cool next to the $175.00 monster pack from Costco. (Thanks Kraig, next year Kendon will want nothing less!) :) It was fun, I think the adult men like lighting fireworks just as much as the kids like watching them. Thank you Kraig and Jaci for such a fun, (cold), night!

Waiting for the parade to start! It was a little cold!!!Kendon and Kennedy "spitting" sunflower seeds at their cousins baseball game. It was actually just licking the salt off and then spitting the entire seeds on the ground. :)

Our festive 4th of July cupcakes.

All the cousins waiting for the firework show to start. Luckily nobody close had a match here!!

Kennedy's Graduation

Kindergarten Graduation 2010

Where did this year go?? I feel like I just sent Kennedy to Kindergarten and now it's over. For their Kindergarten program they put on this cute show where they dress up as something they want to be when they grow up, or their favorite outfit. I ask Kennedy, so what do you want to be when you grow up? She thinks for a minute.. "I think in the circus." WTH? :)I don't know where that came from. I knew I wasn't going to dress her up as a clown because first of all, I hate clowns, and 2nd we never go to the circus. Then it was a dentist because you get a prize at the end. After this we went the other route and went for her favorite outfit. Anyone who knows Kennedy knows she loves pajamas. She would wear them all day if she could. So we got her these summer ones and some cute pink slippers from Justice to go with it. She is so cute, fun, and we love her and are glad she is in our family! Congrats Kennedy. :)

We get to cram summer into 3 weeks so summer posting will be coming soon!!

Her class singing their program songs.

Kennedy with her awesome teacher Mrs. Foster. I love this lady. At the end of the year she gives each child a big scrapbook full of everything they did that year. (One less year for me to get behind on).
