It's one week until Kourtney's 8th birthday so I thought I would get a little bit ahead of the game and start her post. Hmmm.. where to start. First off, I can't believe she is about to turn 8!! Kourtney was due on May 22nd 2002. I woke up that morning and my water broke. We went to the hospital but unfortunately she didn't make it out until the 23rd. That perfectly describes Kourtney. She has been on time, and a "rule follower" ever since she was born. She arrived at 4:20 a.m. She weighed in at 9 lbs. 13 ounces. I didn't realize how big this was until I found out the weight of other babies around the hospital. :) She had her dad wrapped around her finger the moment she was born. She was such a good baby. She could entertain herself for hours and she slept through the night by 6 weeks old. I loved going out to stores just me and her and dressing her up in all of the cute clothes. Kev would take her out some nights and come back with lots of fun stuff for her too. The joys of being the first child!!
It's been crazy watching her grow up. I feel like this year we have experienced the most change. But she still follows every rule. She loves school more than anything, and I will be really surprised if she ends up not being a teacher. She has always loved school. If you asked school or Disneyland?...School wins every time. This year Kourt has tried something new when she signed up for cheerleading. It's been hard not having any friends in it, but she has stuck it out. She has learned so much and I am so proud of her for not giving up. She can cartwheel and round-off with the best of them. I swear she did 1000 cartwheel until she could do it just right.
Kourtney has a big heart. She loves her family and friends and always makes sure they are safe. She tries so hard to do the right thing and we love her so much. We are excited to see what this new year brings. Here are just some random things about Kourtney.
1. She loves ribs and ice cream.
2. She loves playing the DS, Webkinz, and the Wii.
3. She loves to draw and create things.
4. She loves her teachers.
5. She loves playing with her friends, swimming, and riding her bike.
6. She is bossy, silly, and active.
7. She loves Taylor Swift and iCarly.
8. She is extremely shy!!!
We love you Kourtney.
Then Grandma Kris slept over so they got in their matching pajamas and stayed up way too late talking!! :) Kourtney loves talking with Grandma.

So here we are at our annual tradition of going to the Race for the Cure. It's held every Mother's Day weekend. It's an awesome event. It is so inspiring and uplifting to go. You can really feel the love that people have for those in their lives that are living with this disease. I looked at some young girls, probably no older than my girls who had lost their mother 1 month ago. It makes me so grateful for the time that I have, and how lucky that I am to still have my mom here and that I can be here for my kids. We of course go because of my fabulous mother. We love her, are proud of her, and are thankful for every year that she is here!! Way to go mom! Here are some of my favorite pics from the day.
